I accidently downloaded a file (virus) from a website when I accidently hit OK before registering that it was for a download :(. It was aggressive, setting & unsetting policies (to hide the changes), popping up loads of windows, installed 3 or 4 binary files, removed lots of important items from various menus, etc.. Free AVG completely ignored it! I had to remove it by hand - a complex & tedious but educational exercise. I lost a lot of confidence & respect in AVG that day. I also decided to campaign to bring back the death penalty for hackers & virus authers ;)
