Did you realize that the DNS cache on your computer is tracking everything you do, even if you use Google Chrome’s "Private Browsing" mode? Simply use this command line to view everything in the cache:
ipconfig /displaydns
Then use this one to flush it:
ipconfig /flushdns

I tried the ipconfig/flushdns and got the following message–THE REQUESTED OPERATION REQUIRES ELEVATION. Help.
You’ll have to right-click and ‘run as admin’.
Assuming your using Vista you have to shut off the UAC to get the elavation.Fancy word for permission!
In simple English can you explain what this is and how it protects my privacy? thanks, Bill
Worked as claimed under XPPro……
didn’t know just how many people were “following” my footsteps!!!!
LTR,
GFG
After entering the command “ipconfig /displaydns” I get a very brief flash of a display window (half a second?) and then it’s gone. Impossible to read who is trailing me.
Any idea why this is happening?
1fastbullet, you have to click start, run, then type CMD, and then enter ipconfig/displaydns right from the command line. You cannot just click start, run, and then enter the command.
