Preme is a free app which enhances different aspects of Windows 7. It ads a host of new geeky features such as: double ESC to close the active window, docking of windows on either side of the screen, adds a window switcher corner on the top-left side of the screen, etc.

Well I played with it some more and found out that it will only download with Firefox, not Internet Explorer. I find this to be totally unacceptable behavior.
After installing the program, I worked with it for a while. I find that a number of things that are problems far outweigh any benefit in the program.
1) It installs itself as an .EXE in my Startup, a very non standard behavior.
2) It will only run if I am connected to the internet–totally bizarre. I would not want any utility that I might come to depend-on suddenly become unavailable if my Internet connection died.
3) The “Window Switcher Corner” does not work on my machine. (See the previous comment for details on my configuration.)
4) “Touch Slide Window” does not work in a consistent and understandable way. It moved one window to my second monitor and froze it there. Some how–I am not clear how–I finally got it loose, but then had to chase it from one monitor to the other. It would not set still.
5) Some times a window would go off to the right off any of my monitors, leaving me with no way to call it back. If I hid one, I found that I could use a second window to exchange it with the hidden one, but the bahavior was not consistent.
6) The “How?” button associated with “Touch Slide Window” suddenly grabs your cursor and starts to move things around on the desktop without explanation. I suppose this is supposed to be come kind of training. For me it was worthless, and it would not relinquish my cursor until it was done. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from any program.
7) For “Cursor Up”, I cannot fathom why you would want the feature.
8) “Touch Start” did nothing on my machine.
9) “Hold to be on Top” I could not get to work without reading the help. Even then it was not clear.
10) The Preme Interface window will only display on top. Not nice.
11) “Wheel Window down” works, but I am not sure if I like having little minimize boxes on my desktop instead of just minimizing to the tray. Also, the “restore” button was not enabled; only the “mazimize” and “close” buttons were enabled.
12) “Press Wheel to close” worked for a few minutes, but then also quit functioning.
13) The “Help” button brings up a text file, but does not bring back the Prene Interface window when you are done as one would expect.
14) “Esc Esc” worked find, but how is that much better than just Alt-F4, which we have always had?
I have liked a number of the utilities you have pointed me to, but this one was awful!
