I tried Google Public DNS and its fast
My report shows almost 50% less latency but when I changed name server for one of domain
it took time to reflect that changes on my local PC and as soon as I changed it to Open DNS
I can see name server change

@Carl

I agree I've been curious and checking this website out and sofar has been quite interesting. But this just makes me lose confidence in you're site.

You would have to do some extensive testing to make it viable.

But, I do agree that more competition would be nice in the DNS market (if it even is a market).
So far using the google dns has not improved any of the speed that I have used.
I also suggest using GRC (Gibson Research Company's DNS benchmarking tool)

Does Google provide filtering services? Or phising protection? The data I've seen indicates that Google DNS and Open DNS are equally fast so why this Googlemania? Whats the benefit of changing OpenDNS to Google DNS? Why do you call Google "the mother of all DNS resolvers" - it's a new service. I'm sorry to say that this uncritical, rahter biased post makes me lose confidence in your articles.

The advantage of OpenDNS is that you can configure many settings, such as website filtering and being able to use keywords for websites regardless of the browser being used.

Though I'm sure Google will offer reliable and fast DNS resolution, I'm going to sit back and see how they do. In the mean time, I'm going to stick with OpenDNS until Google proves they can provide a hands down better experience.

...I don't know about the "mother" of all DNS resolvers, but it is nice to see competition in this area.
