This may be great for plain vanilla systems, but my system has a Sound Blaster card and it does not have these options. Of course, it has a ton of other options :)

I personally find loudness equalization annoying, as it causes volume fluctuations and eliminates dynamic range. Even playing around with more advanced loudness equalizers, I can never make it responsive enough for my ears, and I still catch those fluctuations.

Just my two cents.

This tip would be more useful if It distinguished which settings apply to any user of Win 7 (or Vista) and which are specific to particular audio cards and/or speakers.
The tabs and options on my Thinkpad T61 Win 7 system are quite different.
