I have been having issues as well. First, the right-click scans for specific folders returns '0 items scanned' even if I do a folder with many files an subfolders.

I also have a problem with updating. I have it scheduled to do a daily quick scan at 2:00 pm but this is not working. Today when I checked, it had been over 48 hours since the last def update and that update was done manually as well. Before that it had been 3 days.

Is this something that would be easier done by creating a task to scan/update/upgrade??

I uninstalled MSE 1.0.1611 this past weekend for testing purposes and noticed the version had changed when I reinstalled. Checked the wife's PC and she still has 1611. I will report any additional information I can find. For what it's worth, FileHippo has 1959 available for download.

My 64-bit version will not upgrade. I get a message saying I have the latest version already even though it is below 1.0.1959.0. Does this tip only apply to the 32-bit version or could there be another problem?

Yeah, do you have any documentation on why we need to upgrade? I sure hope it does it automatically because I've installed it on dozens of machines for home users.

I have 1.0.1611.0 and it seems to be the latest. No other (new) version regarding Microsoft. Maybe you are using the new beta of MSE?

Why? is it a security risk or just a general time to update? Will it automatically notify the user of an upgrade that is available and install it for them?
