Security for Everyone – Reviewing ZoneAlarm Internet Security 2010

Since Zone Alarm’s sale to Checkpoint, they are merely trading in on their former good name. I highly disagree with the review of Zone Alarm Internet Security 2010. This software is Zone Alarm Security Suite with a new label, since ZASS has so much negative baggage. Changing the name of a failed product is a marketing gimmick — like “new and improved.” In this case it is neither. The interface and incompatibility with Windows apps like System Restore — let alone 3rd party software –all remain unchanged. I put up with ZASS far too long. The high annual renewal fee is money down the drain. After five years of grief — though their email tech support tried its best — i uninstalled ZASS (not easy, even with Revo Uninstaller), reactivated my Windows Firewall and tried Microsoft’s Security Essentials. I’m far from an MS supporter but this free product picked up two trojans ZASS had missed and causes no conflicts I can see. My PC boots faster and hasn’t crashed since. Security Essentials is a very welcomed and pleasant surprise. I would have paid for it, but MS hardly needs donations. MS has done something right for once. MSE is far superior to Zone Alarm anti-virus etc products, whatever new names they may give it.
I’m not sure why you don’t agree with the review. The conclusion is:
“ZoneAlarm Internet Security 2010 is, at this moment, a somewhat sub-par effort.”
Also it states that: “ZoneAlarm Internet Security 2010 had one of the weakest performances in our series when it came to anti-malware protection.”
Isn’t this what you say as well?
