25.101

Shortly after we talked about a review of AVG Internet Security version 8.5, the good people from AVG Technologies launched version 9.0. They say it fixes most of the complaints people had with v8.5. Until somebody publishes a complete review of the solution, you can check out yourselves if this is true or not.

Resize Images by Copying Them to a Folder

image

This tiny application watches for anything that you’ve copied to a folder, and automatically resizes it to the size that you’ve specified. It’s not as good as the Image Resizer Powertoy Clone, but it’s still pretty cool.

Portable Ubuntu Loads Linux Inside Your Windows PC

image

Sick and tired of dual-booting, virtual machines and all that jazz? Well, the Portable Ubuntu project runs Linux as a Windows app—natively integrated into the rest of the OS. Internally it’s still a virtual machine, but it’s still an interesting idea.
